The Polandball Wiki Song Contest II (PWSC II) was the second edition of the Polandball Wiki Song Contest. It is based on Eurovision but with countries from around the world based on the Polandball Wiki.

It took place in Reykjavik, Iceland-icon.png Iceland, after RÚV stepped in to organize the event. Colombia-icon.png Colombia had won the inaugural July 2017 edition in Greece with the song "Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)" by Shakira ft. Freshlyground with the right to host, but declined to host it.

The UK-icon.png United Kingdom won the contest on its debut with the song "Hall of Fame" by The Script ft. will.i.am. This was the UK's first victory in the PWSC. Norway-icon.png Norway, France-icon.png France, South Korea-icon.png South Korea, and Bosnia-icon.png Bosnia and Herzegovina rounded out the top five.

    Location

    Laugardalsvöllur
After Colombia-icon.png Colombia's victory in the 1st PWSC, Radio Televisión Nacional de Colombia, the national broadcaster of Colombia were offered to host the contest, but they declined. Unknowingly to Iceland-icon.png Iceland and their broadcaster Ríkisútvarpið (RÚV), they were offered the chance to host, and to the surprise of everyone, they accepted.

Shortly after RÚV accepted to host the 2nd PWSC, they started the seek the host city and host venue. Only one venue sent a bid to host and as a result, RÚV announced that the Laugaldarsvollur in Reykjavík would be the host venue for the 2nd Polandball Wiki Song Contest.

    • Turkey-icon.png Turkey - Since Terrr, Turkey's manager, was banned from the wiki, the country was disqualified from the previous contest. Without a new manager to replace him, Turkey did not participate in the 2nd PWSC.

    Incidents

    Canadian song submission

During the contest, Canada-icon.png Canada's entry "Kill Yourself (Part III)" by $UICIDEBOY$, received high disapproval across the board for the song's poor messaging and crassness, with one country, Iceland-icon.png Iceland, who was also the host country, calling the song's message "unpolite". It has even baffled some why the entry was even approved to begin with. Canada's manager, Legrume, initially doubled down on choosing the song, but ultimately came to regretting submitting the entry. As a result from the public outcry, Canada got last place in the contest, only receiving 2 points.

In September 10th, 2021, Polandball Wiki Song Contest owner ChocoMingo-icon.png ChocoMingo addressed this incident in retrospect saying that the contest "overlooked this song's meaning during the approval process back in August 2017". He continued by saying the contest "deeply regrets approving the song due to its awful message and off-putting title belittling mental health". ChocoMingo emphasized that "if someone tried to submit the song today, it would not have been allowed, but ultimately, the song was overlooked by the staff when it shouldn't have been approved. For that, we are truly sorry".

    1st PWSC Discord Server Raid

On August 22, 2017, shortly after the contest results were released, the first rendition of the Polandball Wiki Song Contest Discord server got vandalized. Procimus-icon.png Procimus, the manager for Germany-icon.png Germany and then-owner of the contest, pinned the blame on SsastalPoi, the manager for Greece-icon.png Greece, and disqualified him from the next contest. Ssastal disputed the accusation by saying that his Discord account got hacked and the hacker vandalized the server, with SirBenelux-icon.png SirBenelux, the manager for Luxembourg-icon.png Luxembourg coming to his defense. Due to this incident, this led Procimus to create a new PWSC Discord server shortly after before the next contest in September 2017.

As of 2021, the server's whereabouts is unknown so it is unclear who actually vandalized the first PWSC Discord server.
